Gleniffer Lake Resort and Country Club

In 1983 the Alberta Government dammed the Red Deer River just south west of Innisfail to create a permanent supply of fresh water for the surrounding area. This created Gleniffer Lake, a beautiful deep body of crystal clear, mountain fed water, approximately 7 miles long and up to 1.5 miles wide. The Westergaard family's century old farmland had become lakefront property with over 5,000 feet of shoreline.

Realizing that lakeshore property was not in abundance, and the rising demand for family recreational lots, the idea to create a world class Resort and RV Park was born. Brothers Randy and Keith Westergaard started to build their dream.

While they researched and planned the Resort Project, the property operated as a campground consisting of 97 sites. They worked with the county sharing their vision and were granted re-zoning approvals to proceed. They quickly sold out the initial offering of sites. Gleniffer Lake Resort was born.

Our Dream Becomes Reality...

Because of the immediate interest and further demand for more serviced lots, their plan moved forward to develop the remaining 218 acres into a world class facility unlike anything in Western Canada. The Westergaards made a promise to build the best lakeside family resort in Western Canada, and they have succeeded.
